SAME SEX MARRIAGE AND FEDERALISM

This workshop will use the timely and controversial topic of same-sex marriage to explore the ways in which constitutional and legal structures shape public policy outcomes. In particular, a focus on the allocation of power in federal systems will aid in understanding the path of same-sex marriage initiatives in settings such as Canada, Spain, California, Massachusetts, and New York.
